So today signals the end of the Spring term; it is usually the time when we have had our End of term Worship led by Rev Espin-Bradley, we have had our end of term Celebrate and Praise and of course, Good to be Green. It is also the time when I wish everyone a lovely Easter as we break up for the Easter holidays and the children leave school holding or usually, eating their Easter eggs!
But of course we all know that today is not the same as usual, our world is facing a very uncertain time as the majority of people, where they can, are staying safe at home. It has now been two weeks since our school closed to most of our children and staff, and although it is feels very strange not to be at school, I hope that you and your family are starting to find a routine at home and finding the balance between doing work and having fun and time as a family.
We have been fortunate that the weather has been very kind, so although you are not able to meet up with your friends or go to the park, I hope that you are trying to find some time each day to go outside for some fresh air, either in the garden or for a short walk (as long as you are ensuring that you are adhering to the Government's Social Distancing guidelines!)
All staff are missing you and your families and we are so looking forward to when normality can resume. It is lovely that lots of you are sharing what you have been up to and are chatting to your friends and teachers through Teams or Padlet (just set up for Reception to Year 2). Please keep doing this so that we know that you are all ok and safe!
So as we enter the Easter holidays, please don't worry too much about school work, it is time for a holiday, enjoy the time with your family. However, if you do want something to do over the next couple of weeks, there are lots of Easter activities on the website which your teachers have uploaded so have a look. I know some children have already been doing some so I will share those with you all next week.
And finally, we may not have been able to have our End of term worship as normal but Rev Espin-Bradley has recorded a message for you all (see video below).
And as always, I am extremely proud to work at such a wonderful school, this time although worrying for us all has shown what a great community we have at St Luke's. So please keep safe, be kind to one another and please keep in touch.
Thank you, Mrs Grennan
