Final Week of the First Half Term

Well as we approach the final week of the first half-term of 2018-19, I can say it has been a half-term full of hard work, fun and excitement. Following 120 home visits to our children in Early Years, our children in Nursery and Reception have settled in well. We have had record numbers of parents/carers coming into school for phonics workshops, maths workshops and Learning Together sessions. Children across the school have had visits from The Army, The Fire Service, The Well and Timezone to enhance their learning plus there's been visits to The Grand Theatre and Open Door at St Peter's Church.

Next week, our youngest children in Reception and the majority of our Year 6 children have something special to look forward to! On Monday, 60 of our Year 6s (plus their teachers and myself) are off to Condover Hall in Shropshire for their four day residential - both children and their staff are very excited!!!! And then our Reception children will finish their first half-term at full-time school with a visit to Little Owl Farm. And for everyone else, Friday afternoon is our first 'Good to be Green' session of 2018-19 as we break up for half-term on Friday 26th October.

And to finish with, I must say a huge well done and thank you as our overall attendance for this week was the highest I have known it for a long time - 99.1%. An absolutely fantastic achievement!
