Christmas Cards
Many of you have been asking about Christmas Cards and whether our school is allowing them to be brought in. Lots of schools are saying no to Christmas Cards this year but we would like to compromise; we would prefer it if each child could design / make / write 'one Christmas card' for their class which will then be displayed in the classrooms for everyone to see.
In addition, as this is the time of year when we would also have a Christmas collection for 'The Well', if any parents/carers would like to donate the money that they would have spent on Christmas Cards, we would like, as a school to collect money and donate it to this fabulous organisation who help and support lots of families in our City!
Christmas Performances
As you are all aware, this year is certainly going to be different as we are not able to have our usual Infants Christmas Production and our Key Stage 2 Christmas Concert. However, please watch this space as the year groups are planning different ways of celebrating so that children can have special memories of Christmas 2020!
Wednesday 16th December: Christmas Lunch & Christmas 'Jumper' day!
If your child usually has a packed lunch, then they are welcome to join us for a special Christmas lunch. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are eligible for an Universal Infant Free School Meal. However, children in Years 3 to 6 will need to pay £2.50. If you would like to order a Christmas Lunch for your child, please contact school by Friday 11th December.
Children can come to school with a Christmas or festive jumper or top in place of their usual St Luke's sweatshirt or navy cardigan. Please do not feel that you have to go and buy a special top, you could easily upcycle an old one, or get crafty and design your own or even add some decorations to your uniform!
Thursday 17th December: Christmas Parties
Usually at this time of year, we ask parents/carers for donations of snacks and biscuits for our Christmas parties. Unfortunately, due to the current Covid restrictions, we will not be able to do this. But please don't worry, school will be providing all children with a little party snack!
Friday 18th December: Good to be Green & Christmas School Shop
We will be celebrating the end of this half-term with 'Good to be Green'. This is part of our Rewards & Discipline Policy and procedures and recognises the wonderful attitudes and behaviour of our children. As part of this, children will have the opportunity to go to our 'School Shop', this is where children can buy little toys, items, treats with a Christmas theme. All monies raised goes to School Fund. If you would like your child to go to school shop, please send them with some money in a named envelope - thank you.
