PE & School Sport

At St Luke's Primary School, we are committed to providing our children with a well-rounded education; including lots of opportunities for physical activity and sport. In addition to our Physical Education (PE) lessons, (that provide a sequenced curriculum and the fundamentals of a Physical Education) we enter a variety of sporting events within our community and provide afterschool clubs that are designed to ensure that our children have the chance to access a wide variety of sports and activities. On many occasions, children will then have the opportunity to showcase their skills through in school performances, participate in festivals within Wolverhampton, or compete against other schools.

We are proud to offer our children the chance to attend multiple competitions and festivals throughout the year, where they can engage with other schools and develop a love and enjoyment for sport. These events not only provide opportunities for our students to showcase their skills and abilities, but they also help to build social skills, encourage teamwork, embed values such as fairness and respect and promote a healthy lifestyle.

At St Luke's, we aim to give every child the chance to participate in physical activity, regardless of their level of ability. We understand that some children may find physical activity challenging, which is why we offer a range of sports and activities to suit all interests and abilities.

Our extensive range of sports and activities include basketball, football, cricket, hockey, fitness, gymnastics, netball, rounders, multi-skills, running, athletics, invasion games, dance, tri golf, swimming, boccia, and more! With so many options available, we are confident that every child can find a sport or activity that they enjoy and can participate in.

Overall, we are proud of the range of opportunities we provide for our children to participate in physical activity and sport. We believe that these activities are an important part of a well-rounded education and help to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
